General Update! Lots To Tell...
Published on: 15 May 2005
Hello all! It's been a while as usual and a lot has happened. In fact, I think these last few months have been the busiest ever for me. I've been working on a new record with A-Ha and it's been quite a journey with work in Oslo, New York, Nashville and London. The songs are amazing and it's going to be a very good album. We're getting close to mix-mode now and hopefully the album will be done in early July. You can check on progress on the A-Ha album by going to www.a-ha.com
There hasn't really been time for much else. I've done some more recording with Yusuf Islam (see: www.catstevens.com) and we've also finished an amazing duet with the Alex Cuba Band and Jason Mraz. It will be out in the US and Canada this summer. Stay tuned for details!
Things have been going great for KT Tunstall this spring, and one of the songs I wrote with her is the current single "Other Side Of The World". The album is gold in the UK and has been on the UK charts for quite a while. I'm not quite sure when the album is released in the US but check her site for details. Ron Sexsmith has been having a good year too with the "Retriever" album doing really well and also winning a Juno award in Canada for songwriter of the year. Also the Stephen Foster tribute album where Ron and I contributed with a version the fairly obscure song "Comrades Fill No Glass For Me" won a Grammy for best Folk album at the 47th Annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles this year.
So, a good year so far! Stay tuned for updates, be good and have a great summer. peace,
