KT Tunstall

OK...I guess this will be a kind of a late New Years message. First of all Happy New Year to you all and thanks for coming back to the site although the updates are few and far between. Last year was an amazing one in many ways. From a work perpective there was the sucess with KT Tunstall in the UK, the Stephen Foster tribute album me and Ron Sexsmith contributed a song to won a Grammy and of course producing the first new recordings of original material with Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens) really was a magical experience.
The new a-ha album is starting to make noise in the UK as we go into this new year. The first single was their first top 10 hit in the UK since the early nineties, the album is still in the charts and the second UK single "Cosy Prisons" will be released in early April. Also KT Tunstall is nominated for three Brit awards this year and "Eye To The Telescope" has just been released in the US where things are looking really good! So....all good really!
While I haven't got around to updating this site, I've been very busy in the studio both with writing and also producing several albums since October last year. One is an amazing irish singer/songwriter called Declan O'Rourke. His album "Since Kyabram' is a major success in Ireland and we have re-recorded a couple of the tracks and done some additional production on a few others. Michael Brauer mixed it all last November and the new "Since Kyabram" is released on V2 this spring. James Morrison is probably the most shockingly great voice I've heard in years. He's a young dude from Rugby who's grown up listening to stuff like Cat Stevens, Stevie Wonder, James Taylor and Curtis Mayfield. The music sounds accordingly, an effortless blend of classic songwriting and soul music performed by a voice that....we'll you'll have to just hear it!! It will be out this summer on Polydor UK. Right now I'm finishing an album with Teitur. For those of you not familiar with this great singer/songwriter from the Faroe Islands you'll be in for a treat! Until this new album is out you can check out www.teitur.com or buy his previous Universal outing "Poetry & Aeroplanes".
There's so much exciting stuff planned for the near future as well. I'll keep you updated....when?.....as always...my intentions are good! Peace, love and have a great year,
