Message from Martin;
Hello all!
I hope you like the new site. Have had the most amazing guys re-design my old tired site and here's the new one.....hope you'll enjoy it! In the studio it's been as busy as always. Have been spending time in LA working on a new album with Howie Day. It's been taking most my time the last few months and it feels like we've made a really amazing album. Michael Brauer is mixing the album right now in NY. I'm heading out there tomorrow morning to check in on the mix and to meet up with the Apparatjik's (will let you know more about this project soon, in the meanwhile check out our track "Ferreting" on Bruce Parry's Survival album). Obviously an important time with the elections and hopefully it will be a historic week ahead. We're all hoping for a big party on Wednesday!
Will also be with Brauer the week after as he starts mixing the new Yusuf Islam album. We recorded a bunch of tracks for the album this summer and on one of the songs Yusuf invited Paul McCartney and Dolly Parton to sing along. It was an amazing day being in the studio with Yusuf and Paul and what ended up on tape was really amazing!
Anyway, the fotball season is underway and the Kensaltown Kings are stronger than ever, Jason Mraz keeps occupying the charts around the world (I'm Yours is closing in on 2 million downloads sold in the US!!), I have been working on new exciting recordings with Jeremy Lister, Alison Moyet and a bunch of other stuff that you'll find out about very soon.
Take care, don't worry about the old banks and have fun!
Martin.

As Martin has been in the studio writing and recording several new songs for James Morrison's upcoming second album, the charts are registering some serious Kensaltown activity around the world! Jason Mraz's new album "We Sing, We Dance, We Steal things" is the #3 album in the US this week!
There is some great video footage from the making of Jason's album on his website you can check out at: www.jasonmraz.com.
Martha Wainwright's new album "I Know You're Married But I've Got Feelings Too" is top 20 in UK midweek charts and Tristan Prettyman had a top 25 debut on the US album chart with her album "Hello" a few weeks ago. Tune in to the radio, go and see a show or buy one of these amazing albums to hear Martins most recent work!!

It's midnight in London and I thought it was about time I posted a message here on the site! It's been hectic as usual and there's lots of exciting stuff happening in the K-town world. First of course is the launch of our new label Kensaltown Records! Please check out what's happening on our website kensaltownrecords.com. Our first artist to be released is Dawn Kinnard. Her Album The Courtesy Fall will be released March 31st and she's already receiving praise and love in the UK press and music communities...I'm so proud of Dawns album...PLEASE check it out!
Also very exciting are all the upcoming releases this spring of albums I've produced during the last year. Jason Mraz, Ron Sexsmith, Martha Wainwright and Tristan Prettyman all have albums released during the spring / early summer, and I can't wait for you all to hear them!!
At the moment I'm working with Bruce Parry (from the BBC documentary "TRIBE") and Molly Oldfield on an album to raise money and awareness for the charity Survival International, which is a Worldwide organisation supporting tribal peoples and their human rights. So far we've recorded original songs and performances by KT Tunstall, Yusuf Islam, Brett Dennan and Jason Mraz. We will be recording many more amazing artist collaborations throughout the spring for an album due out in the autumn. Please check out their web-site: www.survival-international.org . You'll see why we are all so passionate about this project!
Take care out there and check back sometime...Much love, Martin

Martin has signed a significant extension of his publishing agreement with Sony ATV. "I've really enjoyed working with Rak and the London crew over the years and I just met Marty Bandier and the team in New York last week and they all seem so focused and passionate. It made total sense to continue a relationship that has been really great so far", says Martin.
